A working farm for more than 100 years, 17 Mile House Farm Park plays host to the Arapahoe County Fall Festival, a FREE event, on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 155-year-old property features a farmhouse, silo, milk-shed and red barn, as well as two replica windmills.
The oh-so-popular Goat Yoga will be held at both 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. (Bring your mat and get ready for adorable and friendly goats to join you for downward dog.) Plus, organizers have planned a full afternoon of fun activities celebrating Arapahoe County’s agricultural heritage.
Enjoy hayrides pulled by a team of Belgian horses, listen to toe-tapping tunes from Strings in the Box and Just Jill, try your luck at gold panning, explore skins and skulls, and watch historic demonstrations by a blacksmith. Take a turn “milking” June the Cow and visit her barnyard friends in the petting farm.
Take a guided tour of the farmhouse, which once served as an inn for pioneers traveling on wagon trains to Denver. Or head into the pumpkin patch and pick your favorite for a small fee.
Enjoy seasonal beers from Breckenridge Brewery to go along with delicious food options, including barbecue, baked goods and kettle corn.
The festival runs rain or shine. 8181 S. Parker Rd., Centennial, 720-874-6743.
Is this event actually free or do you pay for the activities?
I believe the event and activities are free. You only pay for food and beverages.
