Just to be clear, no one is barbecuing birds. Instead, the annual BBQ for the Birds celebrates birds, people and land, while thanking the community for their contributions to conservation and education programs at Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. This year’s event is Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Barr Lake State Park Nature Center.
Enjoy guided bird walks, live bird presentations, family-friendly outdoor activities, a live airing of Bird Talk Radio, native plant gardening demos and a delicious meal. Guests can visit with Bird Conservancy staff and learn more about the organization’s science, education and land stewardship programs.
Admission is $5 (ages 12 and under are FREE) which includes park entrance fees, lunch and event activities. Tickets may be purchased online.
Barr Lake State Park Nature Center is at 13401 Picadilly Rd., in Brighton.
