Arvada hosts the Olde Town Shindig: An Arts and Music Festival on Friday & Saturday, September 6 & 7, 2024. The FREE event will showcase a two-day live mural competition with 20 talented artists creating masterpieces. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite murals, and have the unique opportunity to purchase these works of art after the event during an online auction.
As winner of last year’s competition, Bobby Magee Lopez was awarded a commission to work with a local business on installation of a more permanent mural within the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District. Collaborating with Chris and Diane Koehler, owners of the Nutrition Therapy Institute (NTI), Bobby was able to create a design that speaks to NTI’s commitment to food, nutrition and sustainability. Music lovers can enjoy live performances from some of the Front Range’s most exciting original bands, including May Be Fern, The Mañanas, Shady Oaks, The Barlow, and more.
The festivities will culminate on Saturday night with a “Battle of the Decades” Dance Party, featuring a live DJ spinning hits from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and beyond.
In addition to the live music and art, the Olde Town Shindig will offer a variety of 75+ artisan vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, and local adult libations.
Hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.
