The 2019 Arts on the Block (Aurora Arts Festival) celebrates Aurora and all the great things offered in the Aurora Cultural Arts District. The FREE event is held in Fletcher Plaza on Saturday & Sunday, July 20 & 21 from noon to 8 p.m. (No, you aren’t going crazy as the event was rescheduled from earlier this year due to bad weather.) Enjoy entertainment, rides, food trucks and pop up performances all day.
Festival attendees can look forward to performance from local bands, vocalists, and dance groups such as Show and Tell Band, Hard Blue, Vita Prado, Humberto Alarcón, Colorado Mestizo Dance, Paisha, Roshni, RJM Talent, Rocky Mountain Latin Dance Academy, Academia de Ballet Folklorico Nezahualcoyotl Dance Scene Studios, The Impeckables, and more.
Other highlights includes a fashion show, fire spinning and eating performance by Elemental Enchanters, Midwest Custom Lowrider Club.
There will be plenty of activities for the families with children to enjoy such as Nurf Terf, a bounce house, and Mystic Twistic (interactive arts and crafts), and Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA). The Autism Community Store will also be on site with Spectrum friendly activities at their Sensory Cave.
Staff from the Office of Congressman Jason Crow will be on site on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and will be available to help anyone with problems or assistance navigating any federal agency.
For example: veteran’s services, social security, student loans, immigration, Medicare & Medicaid, other departments. They will also have comment cards for anyone wanting to make a note regarding federal legislation.
The festival include a mix of small business, non-profit organizations, artists, and food vendors for the community to learn more about and shop from.
