Bed Bath and Beyond is now closing almost 240 stores (including six in Colorado) nationwide as the company spirals into probable bankruptcy. Closing sales are unfortunate because it means lots of changes for employees, shoppers and the local community the business serves. However, it’s good news for bargain hunters because of the deep discounts on many popular household items.
The last time BB&B closed a Colorado store, discounts started at 10% off all merchandise and dropped every week or so to 20%, 50%, 75% and finally 90%.
At this time, we are unsure what method of close-out the stores will use this time. However, a MHOTC reader reports that the Thornton store has all merchandise at 20% off. Some merchandise may be transferred to other BB&B stores.
However, as BB&B shoppers are aware, many stores shelves are already bare with limited merchandise, because wholesalers stopped supplying the stores among worries they wouldn’t get paid.
Also, prices at BB&B have skyrocketed on many products. That means bargain shoppers may have to wait it out to find a significant enough discount to really save.
