Bed Bath & Beyond is now closed! Here’s the latest news on Bed Bath & Beyond’s bankruptcy: According to press releases, at least two national retailers — Big Lots and Container Store — have announced they will accept expired Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons. Bring a BB&B coupon into any Big Lots store before May 7 and receive 20% off a purchase of $50 or more. The Container Store will give you 20% off any single item if you bring in a “competitors’ blue coupon” (hint — BB&B).
From April 23, 2023: After much speculation over the last few years, Bed Bath & Beyond just announced they are filing for bankruptcy. The major retailer was once the go-to store for many household essentials, but the times have changed. Every bargain hunter was highly aware of the retailer’s ubiquitous 20% off coupons, often even keeping a secret stockpile for a discounted shopping spree.
However, it seems the coupons were not good enough to keep the doors open, as more people turned to online shopping for all of those kitchen, bathroom and bedroom items.
According to CNN, “The company said customers will have Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to use their remaining 20%-off coupons. The company will stop accepting them Wednesday.
Speculation is that the company does not want customers to receive an additional discount on top of the liquidation prices.
Instead, Bed Bath & Beyond expects to offer ‘deep discounts’ on its products as part of its going-out-of-business sales.”
As of July 25, 2023: The closeout sale ranges from 70% to 90% off the lowest ticketed price, depending on the department. Expect the discount to increase as the final day of business approaches, which has yet to be announced.
Locations are expected to close by the end of July. However, BBB has made no official announcement.
