A celebration of Black filmmaking, history and culture is planned for the 30th anniversary of Davon Johnson’s Black History Month Film Festival. The event features award-winning films, engaging discussions, and a unique opportunity to connect with the community. The FREE festival runs on two Saturdays, February 1 & 8, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Black American West Museum Education Center.
Both days include screenings of thought-provoking, short films by Davon E. Johnson, as well as post-film Q&A sessions with the filmmaker.
Films will include stories celebrating Black pioneers and cultural contributions. movies that capture historical moments and modern reflections and educational and inspirational storytelling through cinema.
There’s also free popcorn, plus refreshments available for purchase (cash only).
This event is free to attend, but suggested donations will be collected at the door to support the Black American West Museum’s mission.
