Imagine a book store where a good novel will only set you back two bucks. Such a store exists… in Aurora. The Book Outlet started as a place to raise money for the Aurora Public Library system, but bookworms know it’s the place to find a wealth of gently-used reading material at unbelievable prices.
Shoppers find thousands (actually tens of thousands) of hardback and paperback books priced from 50¢ to $5 (with most $2 to $3).
The store also carries CDs, DVDs, audio tapes, puzzles, records and more. You’ll also meet some of the nicest “sales” people in town, all volunteers.
The Book Outlet is now open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It is closed on holidays celebrated by the City of Aurora and any “snow days” when schools are closed.
