This holiday season, Colfax Avenue is stepping into the spotlight with the Inaugural Colfax Ave Holiday Tree Lighting — and it’s doing so in grand fashion. Standing tall in Park Ave Park, the live holiday tree measures an impressive 78 feet, surpassing the iconic Rockefeller Center tree by four feet. The official tree lighting is set for Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The evening promises holiday cheer, live music, warm treats, and the official tree lighting, led by Denver Mayor Mike Johnston (schedule permitting).
Draped in 2,300 feet of white string lights — the equivalent of eight football fields — the tree will be the centerpiece of a brand-new community celebration.
In addition to the tree lighting, this FREE event includes the joyous sounds of holiday carols from the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus Performance.
You may also join carolers as they stroll the Avenue, spreading holiday cheer and supporting local businesses and cozy up with seasonal drinks and snacks from local vendors.
Park Ave Park is at the corner of Colfax Avenue and Park Avenue/Franklin Street. (For GPS: Use 1547 Park Ave., Denver).
