Colorado Chautauqua turns 125-years-young this year and celebrates with a FREE Birthday Bash on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chautauqua Park at the base of the Flatirons in Boulder. The event is family-friendly, featuring live music, food and drink, an artisan market, a history exhibit and tours.
Performers on the free outdoor stage include Dead Floyd, Banshee Tree, Chain Station, Mile High Brass Band and Jeff & Paige.
Food and drink will be available from Georgia Boys BBQ, Susan’s Samosas, Zoe Ma Ma, Pupusas Familia, Big Wheel Beverages and Upslope Beer Garden, with more to be announced.
At least 15 vendors will be selling wares in the artisan market.
Chautauqua Archivist Kate Gerard leads a historic walking tour of Chautauqua. Stroll through the extraordinary grounds of the National Historic Landmark and learn all about Boulder’s crown jewel. Tours are at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., leaving from in front of the General Store.
The Colorado Chautauqua is one of only 26 National Historic Landmarks in the state of Colorado and one of the few remaining chautauquas in the United States.
It offers music, arts and educational programs; accommodations in their historic cottages and lodges; indoor and outdoor meeting space; wedding and celebration venues; coffee, ice cream and shopping at their General Store; fine dining at their historic Dining Hall; and, direct access to 40 miles of trails and thousands of acres of open space.
