All Prices Increase! What You Need to Know About Shopping at Daiso — What’s The Next Store to Open in Colorado?

POSTED BY
Bryan

Thank you for sharing the price increase with us, Ryk! Colorado now has three Daiso locations — a big deal (literally) for bargain hunters looking for a fun and unique shopping experience! What is Daiso? Daiso is a 50-year-old, family-owned company out of Japan, with more than 100,000 products available. (It’s Japan’s extremely popular discount store!) They operate more than 150 locations within the U.S. — now including Colorado!

And have more than 6,000 locations globally.

The discount store promises “to be a haven for shoppers seeking quality merchandise at affordable prices.”

With its extensive range of products spanning various categories, including Japanese-inspired home décor, stationery, food and more, the store has “become synonymous with accessible and innovative offerings.”

The store’s motto is: “We hold to the idea of the everyday low price providing infinite power to improve people’s lives. We want to improve people’s lives through the exciting discovery of our high-quality, innovative products.” Sounds good to bargain hunters everywhere!

As of now, there are three locations in Colorado:

Aurora — Village on the Park Shopping Center at 2353 S. Havana St.

Centennial — Cherry Knolls Shopping Center at 6770 S. University Blvd.

Fort Collins — Pavilion Shopping Center at 4300 S. College Ave.

What You Need to Know About Shopping at Daiso

How do you pronounce the store’s name?

This is a common question among shoppers. The store’s name is pronounced “die-soh”.

What do they sell at Daiso?

You will definitely find lots of unique, fun and clever items for just about everything in your life — from stationery to make-up and gardening to the kitchen. Most of the items are made in Japan. However, you will find some are made in China.

Daiso definitely loves Disney! You will find Disney-themed items in just about every category, including resealable bags, plasticware, “socks” for your furniture, measuring cups and more.

IMPORTANT: Most items are packaged all in Japanese, so be prepared to spend a little extra time figuring out what everything is exactly. Some things are obvious, while others may take a little more investigate work.

It’s a fun game of “What is this for?” There are many clever and unique items you’ve probably never seen before, so have fun shopping!

What’s the pricing at Daiso?

Prices range from the lowest of $2.25 to the highest of $18. However, figuring out the price on a specific item can be tricky because the pricing is in Japanese. Look for the “Label Conversion Chart” posted throughout the store — see below.

UPDATE: Items without a price tag are now $2.25, which includes many items throughout the store. (Previously, the price was $1.75.)

If you’re still not sure, just watch the price at checkout. If it’s more than what you want to spend, simply have it taken off your order. No need to be embarrassed or guilted into buying it just because it was in your basket.

What are Daiso’s store policies?

It’s always important to be an informed consumer before shopping. And it’s even more important at Daiso because they have strict store policies, namely that all sales are final. That means, when you shop, be sure it’s an item you definitely want because you can’t change your mind later and return or exchange it.

Here are Daiso’s store policies:

All sales are final.

No refunds or exchanges.

Discounts and other sales only available while supplies last. No rain checks.

Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted. Cash is also accepted.

EBT cards are not accepted.

Exclusions may apply to any offer, sale or promo.

Opening Summer 2025 – While there has been no official announcement from Daiso, the new location is expected to open on August 9 and 10, 2025.

BONUS: We have also read reports that there may be a 5th Colorado location opening in Arvada at the end of the year. Once we confirm any details, we will update the post.
