Denver’s Night at the Museums sees more than a dozen museums open their doors to the public for FREE on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., as part of Denver Arts Week. Each museum promises special entertainment and activities, including music, dance and storytelling. There’s even a FREE shuttle to whisk you between most museums.
The following museums are scheduled to participate. A few will be free all day or open prior to 5 p.m., so be sure to check individual websites for details.
Center For Colorado Women’s History
Enter at 1310 Bannock Street for a three-room tour. See collection items from the Rumors of Bloomers exhibit.
Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus
Experience hands-on, interactive and totally one-of-a-kind exhibits that champion the wonder and joy of childhood. Launch rockets in Energy, see who can make the biggest bubble, create a masterpiece in The Art Studio and more.
Clyfford Still Museum
Modern art lovers will love this museum. Check out Dialogue and Defiance: Clyfford Still and the Abstract Expressionists. The exhibition considers the nuanced ways in which Clyfford Still was part of an artists’ community in the late 1940s and early 1950s, despite his protestations to the contrary.
Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL)
Explore the CELL’s immersive experience investigating the root causes of violent extremism and learn how to help prevent future threats. Through interactive displays and multimedia presentations, you’ll see how world leaders use language as a weapon and how state-sponsored terrorism affects both domestic and global security. The museum will be open and free from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Denver Art Museum
Wander the exhibit areas and catch Composing Color: Paintings by Alama Thomas from the Smithsonian American Art Museum among other art displays. The new exhibition Wild Things: The Art of Maurice Sendak requires a special ticket ($15).
Denver Botanic Gardens
Explore art and science in the Freyer – Newman Center for Science, Art & Education. Discover three exhibitions, attend a performance lecture by artist Nathan Hall, and be inspired by floral creations by Arthur Williams of Babylon Floral. Note: There is no garden access during Free Night at the Museums.
Denver Firefighters Museum
The Denver Firefighters Museum will be open for tours of the firehouse and its collection of historic fire engines.
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Enjoy art demonstrations, drop-in workshops, night-sky telescope viewing, and exhibitions. General admission is free with no ticket needed.
Dinosaur Ridge & Morrison Natural History Museum
Explore the exhibits and participate in hands-on activities. Discover dinosaur tracks during an optional flashlight tour ($8) of the tracksite, and enjoy track paintings and dinosaur crafts. A shuttle will be provided between the two museums located 20 miles west of Denver.
Forney Museum of Transportation
Stroll through this one-of-a-kind collection that includes a Union Pacific ‘Big Boy’ Steam Locomotive and enjoy favorites like Amelia Earhart’s 1923 Goldbug Kissel.
Four Mile Historic Park
Experience campfire stories, a craft station, prairie games and tours of the Four Mile House.
History Colorado Center
Explore and experience more than 15 different exhibitions, such as Building Denver: Visions of the Capital City, a time-traveling adventure into Denver’s past, present, and future.
MCA Denver
Explore the contemporary art exhibitions and be sure to check out the rooftop cafe with city views.
Molly Brown House Museum
Tour the home of Denver’s unsinkable Margaret “Molly” Brown, who was a world-renowned activist, performer and traveler.

Experience the premier Latin American Art Museum in the Rocky Mountain region. Test your skills on an exciting Scavenger Hunt through the exhibitions. Put your observation skills to the test as you explore a diverse collection of art and artifacts from across the Americas.
The Museum For Black Girls

Wings Over The Rockies Air & Space Museum
Get up close and personal with historic aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia and explore the future of aviation and space through immersive events and realistic flight simulators.

There are seven (7) different shuttle routes this year.
FREE shuttle buses will stop at (or nearby) most museums, beginning at 5 p.m. Final shuttle routes depart at 10 p.m. from all museums.
Dinosaur Ridge and the Morrison Natural History Museum are NOT on the shuttle routes.
