Denver Retro Con Celebrates the 70s, 80s & 90s

POSTED BY
Laura

Head back to a time when hair was big and pants were neon at Denver Retro Con, Sunday, November 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Denver North. Celebrate all aspects late 20th century pop culture, from the 70s through the 90s. The day begins with break dancing and ends with a Prince-Off, where attendees can release their inner Prince to win Retro Con cash, good at any booth.

In between are free-standing arcade games, retro hair and make-up makeovers, Lego sculptures and play area, TV console gaming, an 80s fashion show, attendee costume contest, TV and movie trivia, and 80s Karaoke.

Denver Retro Con also offers a chance to buy back your old toys, pick up some vintage fashion accessories and shop with dozens of vendors selling vintage toys, fashion, vinyl records, electronics, housewares, comics and more.

Author and DJ, Jason Heller, will be spinning tunes all day, setting the retro mood and taking audience requests. At noon, Heller will talk about his book, “Strange Stars: David Bowie, Pop Music and the decade Sci-Fi Exploded,” playing music related to the book until 1 p.m.

Tickets are just $8 at the door. Get $2 off tickets by buying in advance online. Children under 12 are FREE, and parking is FREE. Early Bird entry (10 a.m.) is $12 at the door. Find a full event schedule here.
