Thornton’s McAllister Park Center is site for the community’s Dia de los Muertos celebration (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from noon to 5 p.m. The FREE event features an art market, face painting, live Mariachi and Salsa music, youth dancers, food vendors and a Catrina costume contest with prizes.
Don’t forget to bring your ancestor picture for the ofrenda! This traditional altar is being designed by the Mexican Culture Center.
Family-friendly activities held indoors include the Butterfly Pavilion Monarch Program, Mexican Cultural Center, and Thornton Arts Sciences and Humanities Council.
Come dressed as your favorite Catrina for a fun afternoon with family and friends!
