With hosting holiday gatherings or taking food to one, everyone spends more money on groceries in December. Why not earn gift cards in the process? Thanks to Safeway’s Holiday Rewards program, shoppers can do just that — from November 26 to December 25. The more you spend at the grocery store, the more points you earn toward lots of great rewards, including a gift card of your choice.

How do you participate in the Holiday Rewards program?
Log in to your existing Safeway For U account or sign-up here.
Each week, from November 26 through December 25, clip the Holiday Rewards digital coupon in your account to activate the 2x, 4x or 6x weekly point multiplier. The more you spend, the higher the rewards.
The coupon is available under “Holiday Reward” under Events in your Safeway For U account. You must clip the coupon before your in-store or online purchase each week.
Here’s how the multiplier works:
Spend $75 to $99.99 to earn 2x points
Spend $100 to $149.99 to earn 4x points
Spend $150 or more to earn 6x points
How do you redeem your earned Holiday Rewards for gift cards?
Gift cards are not available as a reward option the rest of the year, so that makes this deal even merrier for shoppers.
Two gift card rewards are available, during the promotional period:
1.) Redeem seven (7) rewards toward the purchase of a gift card valued at $10 or more.
2.) Redeem twelve (12) rewards toward the purchase of a gift card valued at $20 or more.
If you have the required points in your account, just “clip” the reward you want and it’s ready for redemption.
Once the reward is selected, take your chosen gift card to the check stand for purchase. Then, scan your Safeway Club Card or enter the phone number tied to your account and the discount will automatically apply. (If you purchase a gift card greater than the reward amount, just pay the difference.)
All gift cards are eligible. (MHOTC Tip: If you don’t see the discount properly applied to your order, do not purchase the gift card. Ask a manager or employee for assistance. Gift cards are non-returnable, so it’s best to resolve any issues before making final payment.)
Don’t worry, all of the usual gas and grocery rewards are still available each week. The Holiday Rewards program just allows shoppers to earn points faster with the weekly multiplier and the opportunity to redeem rewards for a gift card (which is not available the rest of the year.)
