Unless someone on the block has backyard chickens, city and suburban youngsters don’t have many opportunities to see adorable farm animals up-close. Make a point of visiting some this fall, when all the critters are running around at CALF’s Lowell Ranch in Castle Rock. This is a great time to visit CALF, as you can also explore the pumpkin patch.
See lambs, pigs, chickens, cows, ducks and more during a Pumpkin Patch & Barnyard Tour in September and October. Dates and times vary depending on the availability of tour guides, so continue to check back as they will be updated. Currently the website shows tours on September 16 & 18 and October 5 & 6, with more to come.
Tours run about 90 minutes. Visit with all the livestock, feed chickens and take lots of cute photos. This is a very interactive experience, so groups are small and tours fill quickly.
We suggest you make reservations right away. Do so here.
Cost is $7 per person, age 2 and older. If your preferred tour date is listed as “Unavailable”, check back often, as additional tickets may become available.
A pie pumpkin is included in your ticket price. Participants also learn how to make apple butter and take a hayride. You may also purchase a jack-o-lantern of your choice (prices start at $5).
CALF has the right to cancel the tour if we do not reach our minimum tour capacity of 10 people. If CALF cancels the tour, they will work with you to reschedule.
If you have questions or if you are interested in an afternoon tour (noon to 1:30 p.m.), please contact Amy at: Amy@thecalf.org.
