It’s a bright, colorful weekend of mariachi and folklorico dance at Festival Garibaldi, a FREE, family-friendly community celebration on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Lawrence Street Park on the Auraria Campus. The event features performances from 12 local Denver mariachi and folklorico groups as they celebrate Mexican music, dance, and culture.
Festival Garibaldi is inspired by the famous Garibaldi Plaza — Mexico City’s mecca of Mariachi music.
It will include more than 24 performances, a free community concert, and a Mariachi jam session. During the jam session, the community can sing and play along with local Mariachi groups to pay homage to all the great canciones of Mariachi.
Festival Garibaldi will be a cultural experience destined to capture the cultural essence and diversity that represents and defines Denver, a city that embraces its community’s cultural diversity through the arts.
It will also include a showcase of student Mariachi groups, gathering more than 200 youth and adult performers.
