Walking tours are a great way to learn about a neighborhood’s history, architecture and culture. They’re even better when they are free. Five Points Fortitude is a new, free audio tour that celebrates the rich history of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood. The tour comes in two versions: one for adults, with 13 stops, and another made especially for families or young people to enjoy together, with eight stops.
Tours begin at the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, located at 2401 Welton St., Denver.
The full tour features 9 stops within walking distance from each other, while the additional 4 stops may require driving or biking to reach them.
The tour was produced by Denver Architecture Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The audio tours are available here. Guests are welcome to enjoy them at their own pace any day or time they choose.
