Westminster residents may know that its History Center tells the tale of how the city came to be through exhibits, archives, live programs and walking tours. But this repository of Westminster’s past also partners with The Friends of Westminster Library to distribute FREE books to children and teens. A variety of books are stocked, from picture books for tots to young adult novels. Some are even Spanish-language for bilingual readers.
All you have to do is bring your child to the Center on Wednesday or Thursday (the only two days it is open to the public) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and pick out one or more books.
They are yours to keep and families may return as often as they wish to get more FREE books, no strings attached. MHOTC salutes the library and History Center for getting books into the hands of youngsters. We urge you to tell your friends about this wonderful program.
The Westminster History Center is located in the DeSpain Schoolhouse at 7200 Lowell Blvd., Westminster, 303-428-3993.
