This event has been canceled for 2020. Union Station hosts Buskerfest this weekend. Buskers are street performers who demonstrate such skills as juggling, hoops, fire skills, unicycling and more. The festival kicks off Thursday, August 1 at 5 p.m. with a grand entrance of all performers.
The public is invited to “get their busk on,” come in costume and join in the fun as there will be an opportunity to meet and greet internationally recognized buskers arriving in Denver from throughout North America. Buskerfest continues Friday through Sunday, August 2 to 4.
The Union Station Buskerfest will feature internationally acclaimed street performers including bucket drummer Peter Rabbit, acrobatic sensation The Street Circus, escape artist Tianna the Traveller, comedy juggling all-star Sam Malcolm, world-champion foot juggler Peter Irish, human statue Paul Borillo and the incredible Gora Gora Orkestar.
Face painters will be on hand, giant puppets and stilt walkers will roam the plaza, and families will have an opportunity to create crafts with the nonprofit organization Arts Street. In addition, Artocade art cars, all the way from Trinidad, will provide the perfect photo opportunity.
The event is FREE, but buskers do work for tips. Visitors to International Union Station Buskerfest can tip performers using cash or wooden nickels that can be purchased on site for just $1 each.
