Think you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs in your family? Consider taking them to a computer coding class designed especially for kids. CoderDojo Denver hosts FREE classes for ages 7 to 18 most every Saturday of the month through May 18 at the Turing School of Software & Design Guaranty Bank Building from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
CoderDojo makes development and learning to code a fun, sociable and awesome experience. Classes help kids with problem solving, teamwork, collaboration and engineering skills as well as with self confidence.
While classes are free, parents are expected to participate to enhance the learning experience. But it’s great fun for all.
You do need to register and children should bring a laptop, if possible. You will fill out your registration information one time and come as often as you can. You can register anytime and join in anytime during the sessions. No previous experience is required.
CoderDojo broadly follows the Denver Public Schools schedule running Fall and Spring sessions. They do not meet in the summer.
The Turing School of Software and Design is at 1331 17th St., Denver. Classes meet on the Lower Level (basement).
