It’s a dance-off. It’s a battle. It’s a Monster Battle. Monsters, beasts and all kinds of creative creatures will unite on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Cheesman Park Pavilion for the kick-off of Meow Wolf’s epic clash of the costumes, Monster Battle. No tickets, no RSVPs, no lines. It’s FREE.
Participants will twist, shout and dance with their claws out to the tunes of Meow Wolf’s DJ Snaggy. All you need to do is show up and prepare to get down and show your best dance moves.
Both kids and adults will enjoy this summer battle of the beasts, complete with games, prizes and the chance to take home the glory. Embrace your true self by showcasing your cute or scary, silly or serious costume and prepare to LARP the competition.
Dance with a stranger, challenge an onlooker to a duel or use your spellcasting ability to stand out from the crowd. No matter what you do, make is monstrous.
Want some professional help creating a costume especially ghastly? Join Convergence Station’s professional monster-maker Kate Major for a family-friendly monster building workshop at Factory Fashion in the Stanley Marketplace on Saturday, August 5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It costs $7.
Materials such as cardboard, bubble wrap, packing materials, yarn, pipe cleaners, paint and glue will be provided. Bring your monster to life with recycled materials for masks, heads, hands and feet in preparation for the Monster Battle. Learn more about the Monster-Making Workshop here.
