Downtown dwellers and workers have a unique option when it comes to exercise. Civic Center MOVES is a FREE series of exercise classes held four days a week in Civic Center Park. This year’s series gets movin’ on Monday, April 30. The line-up and instructors vary each day, but nearly everyone should find a time and workout to suit their needs. Here’s the 2018 schedule:
Monday, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Power Vinyasa Yoga with The River

An invigorating flow class of meditation in motion that will empower and transform you in body, mind and spirit. Learn to go with the flow, find your edge and practice at your own level.
Tuesday, 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Hustle + Flow with Jillian Keaveny
Civic Center Park: Great Lawn | May 1 – October 30
Incorporating both strength and cardio based movements, your entire body will be challenged in creative ways. This is a body-weight, all-levels class and modifications are always offered. Get ready for fun, rad beats and lots of sweat in this 45 minute workout!
Wednesday, 5:30 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. to 7 a.m.: Fitness Tribe with the November Project
Civic Center Park: Alternates between the Greek Theater and the Capitol Steps | Year-Round
November Project is a free, grassroots, fitness tribe aimed at building community that relies on the accountability of our members to show up each morning regardless of the weather conditions or their busy schedules. Our exercise routines are scalable in order to allow us to bring people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic abilities together in the same venue to run, climb, and burpee at their own pace. In 45-minutes, we get in a tough workout, meet new friends and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Thursday, 11 a.m. to noon: Yoga Cross with The River & Fitness in the City
Civic Center Park: Broadway Terrace | May 3 – November 1
Yoga Cross is a dynamic combination of 30 minutes functional fitness training followed by 30 minutes of power vinyasa. Yoga Cross will elevate your heart-rate, strengthen your body, and bring balance to mind and spirit. All levels welcome.
Thursday, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Yoga for EveryBODY with Big Booty Yoga
Civic Center Park: Great Lawn | May 3 – October 4
An all-levels vinyasa yoga class where attendees will match breath with movement through strengthening postures. We will ease our way into class, gain momentum through flow and then steadily slow down.
All participants will be required to sign a waiver the first time they attend a class. Note: Restrooms, changing areas and locker space are not available in the park. For more information, click here.
