We know that backyard composting is an effective way to reduce household carbon footprints and provide quality compost for use in gardens, but it helps a whole lot to learn techniques and tips for efficient composting. the Boulder County Public Works department will hold free workshops on the benefits of composting. Sessions will be held both in person and online, led by the department’s Resource Conservation Division.
Fall yard cleanup time is ideal for learning how to start and maintain a highly efficient backyard compost system by learning what to feed your compost pile, appropriate bins and methods for our geographic region, tips and troubleshooting and much more.
The workshops will teach guests how to effectively start and manage a backyard compost pile. Compost bins will be available for purchase before the in-person sessions at the Boulder County Recycling Center, 1901 63rd St in Boulder.
These Boulder County workshops are taught by Melanie Nehls Burow a Master Composter in Colorado. The workshops are FREE, but her advice is priceless.
