Many of us think of cemeteries as sad places, but, in reality, most are beautiful park-like spaces ideal for all sorts of joyous community gatherings.
Denver’s historic Fairmount Cemetery (430 S. Quebec St.) fits the bill and hosts a Summer Movie Night Series. Movies begin at sunset — around 8:30 p.m.
Here’s the line-up:
June 22 – The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
July 27 – Captain Marvel
August 17 – Dumbo
A different local food truck will be on-site for each screening, with snacks for purchase. Gates open at 7 p.m. (Please enter off of Alameda Ave. and park in the lot west of the Ivy Chapel. The movie will be set up on the Upper Ivy Terrace.) Bring your own blanket and chairs. Remember to pack some bug spray!
