This Friday, July 28, 2023, the beloved musical fantasy film, Coco, which takes viewers on a journey through the Land of the Dead, will be the FREE summer film at the Historic Elitch Theatre. Follow along as Miguel dreams of becoming a musician and embarks on a journey to the Land of the Dead to discover his family’s history.
The Elitch Theatre was the site of the very first films exhibited in Colorado when Edison’s Vitascope was shown at the theatre on August 14, 1896.
Before the film starts, kids (of all ages) can decorate a Día de los Muertos sugar skull cookie. As with the film, the cookie decorating is also free.
Cookie decorating starts at 6 pm and the film starts at 8 pm.
Food and drinks (including adult beverages) will be available for purchase — all benefiting the preservation of the Historic Elitch Theater. Plus, there is a raffle for more than $800 in prizes and ticket purchases benefit the theatre!
Admission is FREE (but donations will be greatly appreciated!)
4550 W. 38th Ave., Denver.
