Our office cinephile Bryan attended the Denver Film Festival last night and spotted a promo sign that had “frugal film fanatic” written all over it. Unfortunately, he was unable to get more details.
In any case, here are the notes from his trusty bargain hunter’s note pad: “For once, waiting until the last minute can save you money. Stop by the Festival Annex Box Office between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays to purchase $5 tickets for a select group of same-day screenings. Showing at the Sie FilmCenter or the UA Denver Pavilions.”
The Festival Annex Box Office is located at the McNichols Civic Center Building — 144 W. Colfax Ave. The festival runs from October 31 to November 11. It’s quite the savings, as tickets range from $11 to $20 for non-Denver Film Society members. Remember, the discounted tickets are only available on weekdays — Friday, November 2 and, then, Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 9. The bargain tickets are not available online or by phone — only in-person at the box office.
By the way, Bryan highly recommends “Boy Erased”, which opens later this month in Denver. Bring Kleenex!
