If you want to experience the future, now’s your chance. We’ve all heard so much about self-driving cars and now you can sit back and enjoy such a ride for FREE. The Regional Transportation District (RTD), along with partner Transdev, invites the public to explore the future of public transit by stepping aboard a driverless shuttle.
On Wednesday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the driverless vehicle will operate on a pre-established course at the Pepsi Center. The shuttle is completely electric and accommodates up to 12 people at a time, six seated and six standing. Even more futuristic, it has no steering wheel and no dedicated front or back, cruising at about 12 mph. The demo takes place in the Prius North parking lot, located at 1000 Chopper Circle.
