Here’s an affordable, cool alternative to those hot summer days: Great Outdoors Waterpark in Lafayette. It may not be the largest complex in town, but it offers a ton of amenities including a lazy river (with tubes), 21-foot high double flume slides, aqua arch (think monkey bars over the water), lap pool, vortex pool and much more for all ages.
The park opens May 25, 2024, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with extended hours to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) through August 11 and then on weekends August 12 to September 1.
Admission is $10/adults, $7.50/ youth (2 to 17) and $7.50/seniors. Five visit punch passes are available, as are season passes.
Passes are good all day, so you can leave the park and then return, if needed.
Here’s a short video of what the park looks like:
Concessions are sold on site including burgers and hot dogs, candy, ice cream and even healthy options such as fruit and hummus. You may also bring your own food into the park, but no glass containers.
