If you’re a “weekly flipper” (someone who loves to flip through the weekly grocery ads, like we do!), you might be a little surprised lately. Many print ads are nowhere to be found. Things change so quickly that many retailers have trouble keeping up with consumer demand and a constantly shifting inventory. If you didn’t know, most weekly ads are planned weeks (if not, months) in advance. As a result, making last-minute changes can be a challenge.
Plus, not having to print weekly ads helps eliminate many human interactions along the printing and distribution process. Not to mention, it saves lots of money and paper!
Don’t fret. All of those weekly ads are available online. And the best source we’ve found is Flipp.
It’s one-stop shopping for all the ads from grocery stores and other retailers — just enter your zip code and all of the weekly ads in your area are right there! We typed in a Denver zip code and found more than 50 weekly ads.
Flipp is the same technology most retailers use on their own individual sites for weekly ads anyway, so you know it’s a reliable source.
And, if you prefer, Flipp also has an app. The app might be the best choice for convenience, especially as you run errands.
With Flipp, you can do the following:
Browse – Search through thousands of local weekly ads.
Search – Quickly find a specific store, item or brand.
Shopping List – Add items you need and the system will instantly find deals (if available) on those items for you.
Item Details – Tap an item for additional product information.
Many things will change, once all of this chaos settles. And one of the biggest changes may be the extinction of the printed weekly ad. It may a difficult transition for some, but there are definitely lots of benefits.
Sprouts has paused their ad for now. Not surprised. A lot of manpower goes into programming sales into PLU systems and I’m sure putting the signage/stickers up alone takes a lot of work that could be used elsewhere. Not to mention half of the stuff on sale isn’t in the store anyways. Won’t be surprised if more stores just pause weekly ads for the time being.
I went to www.flipp.com and all I saw was a market basket with jumping food. Am I looking in the wrong place?
