In Highlands Ranch, movies are best watched from a camp chair or picnic blanket under the night sky. The Backcountry Outdoor Movie Series brings cinema favorites onto the giant screen in the Backcountry Base Camp’s dark, open-air theater every Friday — from June 3 to September 1. (Plus, one bonus Saturday screening!) Pack a picnic dinner and bring your favorite movie snacks.
There are only 45 car tickets are available for each screening. This is not a drive-in. Attendees park their cars and walk a very short distance. Bring camp chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie.
General admission is $25 per car. All proceeds benefit the Backcountry Conservation and Education Fund.
The movies take place at Backcountry Base Camp (6005 Ron King Trail) in Littleton. Gates open in June and July at 7:15 p.m. and in August and September at 6:45 p.m.
Do not arrive before 6:45 p.m. The gates will be closed and the road is on private property.
Weather, Transfers, Refunds: If the film is canceled due to weather before the movie begins, tickets will be transferred to a date in the future. If the film is more than 30 minutes complete, no refunds/transfers will be issued. Staff decisions are final. No refunds will be given for any other reason.
