Roam free, history buffs! While kids under the age of 18 now receive year-round free entry to any History Colorado site, the organization now offers a FREE year-long membership to all fourth grade students in the state. Benefits will include FREE admission to all eight of its museums for students and their families, one FREE child ticket to the Georgetown Loop Railroad (with the purchase of an adult ticket), discounts on programs, and a subscription to their monthly eNews. Who is eligible for the History Buff program?
Students entering fourth grade in the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to register for their History Buff membership beginning on June 1, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Are home-schooled students eligible for the History Buff membership?
Yes! Home-school parents can sign up for this offer.
Which museums are covered by the History Buff program?
The History Buff program covers admission for fourth graders and their families* at the History Colorado Center and the Center for Colorado Women’s History at Byers-Evans House Museum in Denver, El Pueblo History Museum in Pueblo, Healy House Museum & Dexter Cabin in Leadville, Fort Vasquez in Platteville, Trinidad History Museum in Trinidad, Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center in the San Luis Valley, and Ute Indian Museum in Montrose.
*Valid for the student History Buff and up to five additional people (two adults and up to an additional three children).
What information is required to register?
Parents must sign up for the History Buff program on behalf of their student. A mailing address and valid email address are required for registration.
