Denver Senior Law Day helps older adults, their family members and caregivers make informed, positive decisions about legal, financial, and lifestyle issues through a variety of workshop presentations, one-on-one attorney consultations and interaction with exhibitors. The event is Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the PPA Event Center.
Attendees choose from a wide range of workshops to participate in throughout the day. Topics include:
Social Security and Medicare Benefits
Powers-of-Attorney, Conservatorships and Guardianships
Safely Living In Your Own Home: Aging In Place
Estate Planning and Probate Administration
Identity Theft, Fraud and Scam Prevention
You’ll also find information booths from service providers and agencies, and an Ask-An Attorney program where attendees are offered a free 15-minute consultation with an elder law attorney.
Each attendee receives a copy of the Colorado Senior Law Handbook, a 500-plus page resource manual with chapters on 34 issues concerning seniors published by the Colorado Bar Association.
While the event is free, a suggested $10 donation is appreciated from those who can afford it. FREE parking is available directly across the street from the event center and light refreshments will be served throughout the morning.
This annual event is presented by the Denver Senior Law Day Committee, a volunteer group made up of local attorneys, service providers, and community members. The PPA Event Center is at 2105 Decatur St., Denver.
