Each year Lakewood hosts its Earth Day Celebration at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park with live music, entertainment, educational exhibits, electric car test drives, food, drinks and family activities such as nature walks and animal yoga. This year’s FREE event is Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Electric Vehicle Showcase / Ride & Drive
Thinking about trading in your gas guzzler for an electric car? Take a new electric vehicle out for a spin.
Check out a wide variety of electric vehicles and hear from their owners about what it’s like to own and drive one.
You can also try an e-bike.
Live Music
Performers include:

5 p.m. — Super Magick
Parade of Species & Costume Contest
Kids, adults and pets can bring or wear their favorite plant or animal costume or make an animal mask at the event. You can also decorate your wagons and strollers or bring an instrument.
Everyone is welcome to march through the festival in celebration of all of the animal and plant species with whom we share the earth.
Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Favorite Animal Costume, Favorite Plant Costume and Favorite Group Costume.
Be sure to gather at the gazebo at 4 p.m. for animal yoga and the costume contest and photo ops with Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and mascots from local high schools, middle schools and colleges.
The Parade of Species starts at 4:30 p.m.

Parking at Heritage Lakewood is reserved for attendees with accessibility requirements.
Limited Parking for attendees:
Parking is available along S. Yarrow St., in the Tedford Business Office Complex (777 S. Wadsworth Blvd.).
Overflow parking:
Available just a .5 mile walk north of the event site at the Lakewood Cultural Center (480 S. Allison Pkwy.) and the Lakewood Police Department (445 S. Allison Pkwy.)
FREE Bike Valet:
Get to Earth Day in and environmentally friendly way! Ride your bike to the event and park it for free at the bike valet station right near the entrance to the event.
