See reader comments below regarding additional stores closing in Denver, Littleton and Thornton. At this time, we’re unable to confirm any further details regarding percentages off or the last day of business for any of those locations. We’re assuming the close-out sales are similar to the one in Lakewood. However, we only have information on the Lakewood store.
UPDATE on Lakewood: As of now, everything in stock is 50% off. We personally investigated the sale over the weekend and the shelves are about half-full. We were unable to confirm, if you can still use manufacturer’s coupons — so many conflicting answers. (If you have them with you, give them a try. All they can do is tell you they’re no longer accepted. No harm, no foul.)
This information may change, but, for now, this is what we’ve been told from one of the employees. From May 24 to 28, everything remaining will be 70% off. Finally, whatever stock remains for the final few days of May will be 90% off.
Get ready, bargain hunters! We expected some Rite Aid locations to close, when Walgreens bought more than 1,000 of its stores last fall. And, apparently, it’s starting and one of the first in the Denver metro area is at 11907 W. Alameda Pkwy. in Lakewood.
As with all close-out sales, expect the discounts to increase, as the final day of business approaches.
As seasoned bargain hunters, we think the sale is worth a special trip — especially for those items that rarely go on sale. Of course, we prefer to wait until a close-out sale hits around 75% off before we start loading our cart.
The Rite Aid at 750 16th St, Denver, is also closing as of last night per the signs at Rite Aid and Walgreens.
Thornton Location at 104th and Colorado also closing.
Littleton RiteAid on Bowles closing tomorrow May 17.
