The Longmont Public Library’s book collection numbers in the tens of thousands, but knowledge is not found in books alone. To promote learning experiences, the Friends of the Longmont Library has partnered with many local museums and attractions to offer FREE daily passes to patrons through the Library’s website.
These Discovery Passes are a ticket to history, art, science, culture, and nature all along the Front Range, accessible with just a library card. The following destinations are currently participating, and the Library will be adding more attractions in coming months:
Butterfly Pavilion
Clyfford Still Museum
Denver Botanic Gardens
Denver Firefighters Museum
Denver Museum of Nature and Science
Dinosaur Ridge
Fort Collins Museum of Discovery
Longmont Museum
Molly Brown House Museum
Museum of Boulder
Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum
Wings Over The Rockies Air & Space Museum
WOW! Children’s Museum
Reserving a Discovery Pass is fast and easy. Just log onto the Library’s website, locate the Discovery Passes page, decide which attraction to visit, and then click the “Reserve Your Discovery Pass” button to reserve the desired pass.
Because destinations have varying operating days and hours, patrons are encouraged to review the hours and availability of the attraction before reserving a pass. Any patron with a Longmont Library Adult Resident library card (which are issued to residents of Longmont) can reserve a pass at no cost.
Pass holders do not have to come to the Library to collect their pass, but a printed pass must be shown at the museum/venue entrance. Library staff are happy to print passes for patrons without access to a printer at home.
Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance. One pass for each museum may be reserved once per calendar year (365 days from date of last reservation). Changes or cancellations may be made up to 24 hours in advance by calling the Library Reference Desk at 303-651-8472.
