On average, a person will gain 1 to 2 pounds every holiday season they never lose. Over time, those pounds add up!
Kaiser Permanente incentivizes getting healthy (or healthier) with its Weigh and Win program. The generous program helps all Coloradans 18 and older lose weight and maintain it with the prospect of cash rewards for success. (The program is not just for those insured by Kaiser.)
Here’s how to get started:
Enroll online, visit a Weigh and Win HEALTHspot Kiosk for an initial weigh-in. (For locations, click here.) The program requires a quarterly return visit a kiosk for follow-up weigh-ins. Those who have shed pounds may be eligible to receive an incentive of up to $150 every 360 days, based on the amount of weight loss. (After one year, your baseline weight resets and cash rewards are calculated from that weight.)
Only those with a BMI of 25 or greater at the initial weigh-in are eligible to earn the cash rewards for losing weight, per the established incentive scale. (Those with a BMI of less than 25 may still participant and are eligible for prizes by accruing HEALTHpoints.) Review the program’s FAQ page for more details.
Benefit from daily emails with physical activity and meal plans, motivational quotes, success stories and other helpful tips. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can even access a personal trainer via phone or e-mail for additional support and questions.
Weigh and Win is funded by Kaiser Permanente Colorado, in an effort to improve community health by making an effective weight management program accessible to the general public.
