The annual 9Health365 Fair is once again underway across Colorado, with dozens of fairs scheduled through May. FREE screenings for adults (18+) depend on location but may include blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), breast exams, bone density, oral, hearing, vision and skin checks. Select fairs also offer free screenings for children. You can search for a fair near you here.
While not free, many lab screening tests are more affordable than those done at your doctor’s office or through direct-to-consumer labs.
Fee-based health tests include Blood Chemistry Screening ($45), PSA Screening for men ($35), Blood Cell Count ($30), Vitamin D ($50), Vitamin B12 ($25), Hemoglobin A1C ($35), Blood Type ($35) and the take-home Colon Cancer Screening kit ($45).
This year, fasting is not required (optional) for any blood screening. Free blood work vouchers are available to those who need financial assistance.
Each site also offers a medical professional with whom you can discuss health-related questions. Dozens of other tests from pap smears and breast exams to lung function and memory screenings are offered at certain sites. You can find a full list of screenings here.
Masks are required. Reservations are strongly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
Online registration is available for most sites with secure electronic test results available within a few days. (No social security number or personal ID is required.)
Volunteer medical professionals will call you within 72 hour if a critical health issue is discovered. To find a fair near you or get more information, check out their website. You can also call 303-698-4455 or toll-free 800-332-3078.
