Local farmers and ranchers are front-and-center at City Park Farmers Market which opens Saturday, May 15. The market, which will run every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 30, is at 2551 E. Colfax Ave. across from East High School. More than 60 Colorado-based food startups, established brands and artisans will be on hand selling their wares.
Another five or so vendors aren’t from Colorado, but are still part of the agricultural industry, offering products like botanical soaps, flowers or zero waste supplies.
The market will also offer a variety of entertainment experiences, including a donation-based yoga class with Big Power Yoga (weekly at 8 a.m.) and a schedule of regular live performances from local musicians.
Cafe tables with seating and umbrellas will be scattered along the esplanade, with the hope of providing a European plaza-style vibe, while the grassy environment also makes it both family- and dog-friendly.
The market is owned by Peter Wanberg, founder of Jubilee Roasting Co., and Margo Wanberg, co-founder of 3 Sisters Honey.
