Independence Eve has established itself as Colorado’s largest single-day, free community event for over a decade. Due to current events and with additional restrictions with public gatherings, the annual Civic Center event is off. But the Colorado Symphony wants to continue the Independence Eve tradition with Together in Hope, a program of uplifting music, dance, and song that will be presented virtually on Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m.
A focus of the program will be multi-faceted fundraising for select charities during the live TV broadcast on Denver7 and thedenverchannel.com at 7 p.m. with Anne Trujillo and Shannon Ogden serving as emcees.
The program will also stream here and on the Colorado Symphony’s YouTube page on July 3 at 8 p.m. with a special Independence Day replay on July 4 at 7 p.m.
Performance partners with Colorado Symphony ensembles include Colorado Ballet, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, and Opera Colorado.
The event will incorporate locations such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Civic Center Park, Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, and the Colorado State Capital Rotunda.
Audiences will have the opportunity to support artists and individuals including Center for African American Health, The Center on Colfax, Civic Center Conservancy, Food Bank of the Rockies, Food for Thought Denver, and Rose Andom Center through event partner Community First Foundation at ColoradoGives.org/IndyEve.
