Enjoy an outdoor adventure with all natural ingredients. The 16th annual Arvada Trails Day includes a number of FREE events all at Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Featured are trail walks, a 5-mile family-friendly bike ride, a 15-mile recreational street bicycle ride, nature exhibits, live animal presentations, kids activities, FREE refreshments and more.
Start the day by jumping onto Arvada’s trails at 9 a.m. with a 5-mile Family Bike Ride or a 15-mile Recreational Bike Ride. Arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in, bike prep and meet ‘n’ greet at the Majestic View Park North Parking Lot (W. 72nd Ave just West of Carr St.).
Or at 9:30 a.m. take a guided nature walk within both Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge and Majestic View Park. In both cases, see what Arvada’s trails have to offer and discover the wildlife that lives among them.
Then, relax on a stroll down the trails to visit the many outdoor, nature and educational booths at both Two Ponds and Majestic View. And, with the 2018 Year of the Bird, everyone is encouraged to bring their binoculars and their eagle eyes to spot any feathered friends nearby as we enjoy many bird-themed games and nature activities.
Majestic View will be participating in Big Year Jeffco and e-bird.org to encourage as many bird counts as possible throughout the year; you can register your bird counts here.
Everyone can also experience the free family fun at Arvada Trail’s Day with:
- $50 prize drawings toward local outdoor stores
- Live Bird demonstrations and meet other animal friends from Nature’s Educators
- Free refreshments
- Kids’ games and activities
Bring sunscreen and walking shoes.
The Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge is at 80th Ave., just east of Kipling. Parking will be available at both sites (Two Ponds parking at 80th and Kipling; Majestic View parking at 7030 Garrison St.).
