The seven Anythink libraries are described as “a new style of library, a place of unlimited imagination, where play inspires creativity and lifelong learning” serving the residents of Adams County. The public is invited to the FREE opening reception of “Roots/Raíces” at the Commerce City location. The exhibition is an exploration of the agricultural roots of Latin America expressed through art and artifacts. On Saturday, March 2, enjoy music and food while taking in this exhibition curated by Museo de las Americas specially for Anythink.
The reception from 2 to 3 p.m. is followed by the informative and enlightening program from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., when kids in grades kindergarten through 6 are invited to experience the magic of oral tradition with the Legend of the Three Sisters.
This tale teaches the importance of Native American horticulture traditions and planting methodology, and participants will create corn-husk dolls.
