The Conflict Center hosts its annual FREE Peace Day on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be food, face painting, balloon animals, and fun activities for the whole family. Peace Day celebrates community and the power of literature to teach children ages 4 to 10 skills that promote empathy, kindness, and problem solving.
The 5th annual Peace Day offers a creative opportunity to connect while learning valuable skills centered around identifying and expressing emotions and self-regulation.
Visit the website prior to the event to register for a FREE take-home Peace Box that is chock full of family activities, games, and crafts, to be picked up the day of the event.
Last year, the Conflict Center increased the number of boxes distributed to families and community partners from 500 to 1,000. This year, they hope to again distribute 1,000 boxes.
