Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing fitness centers in the U.S. has a new location in Downtown Denver. The club opened its doors on April 17 and is located on the second floor of 815 16th Street on the 16th Street Mall.
Planet Fitness is celebrating the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. and new members can now join for just $1 down and then $10 a month with no commitment through May 23, 2018.
The new downtown Denver Planet Fitness is 19,000 sq. feet and offers state of the art cardio machines and strength equipment, 30-Minute Express Circuit, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, numerous flat screen televisions, HydroMassage beds*, massage chairs*, tanning beds, Total Body Enhancement booths*, and more.
The facility is opened and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the first club in the downtown area to accommodate all lifestyles and schedules.
Membership includes a variety of other benefits, including free small group fitness instruction by a certified trainer. In addition, as a member appreciation gesture, Planet Fitness provides FREE pizza on the first Monday of every month and FREE bagels on the second Tuesday of every month while supplies last, as a reminder that it’s okay to treat yourself.
The PF Black Card membership, which is $21.99 a month, includes additional amenities such as the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to all 1,500+ Planet Fitness locations, as well as access to massage beds and chairs and tanning, among other benefits*.
Be careful of Planet Fitness’s business model.
They offer extremely low prices to increase memberships which will initially crowd the gym.
After a few weeks/months you’ll see a decline in people in the gym…that’s when it’s time to go.
For now, they will purposely administer more memberships than their gym capacity can handle because they don’t expect users to cancel since they are only paying $10 a month… they make most of their money on the people who don’t actively use their memberships.
Anyways, just expect an influx of people using the gym at the beginning and know that they will weed out over time. Cheers!
