If you haven’t been to the movies in quite some time, this may be “news” to you. The definition of “going to the movies” has definitely changed since the pandemic. Before COVID-19, many went to the movies on a regular basis. However, now, most prefer to watch movies at home for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it’s more convenient, less expensive and safer.
The change in how movies are now experienced and distributed has had a direct impact on theater chains, especially on getting people to actually fill the physical seats. Unfortunately, it means many locations have shuttered.
Over the past few years, Regal Cinemas has closed four of its Colorado locations.
Regal Cinemas has permanently closed the following locations:
Contintental Stadium 10 & RPX in Denver — Closed in April 2023
Regal Cinebarre Greenwood Plaza in Englewood — Closure date unknown
Regal UA Denver West Village Stadium 12 in Lakewood — Closed in September 2021
UA Meadows Stadium 12 in Littleton— Closed in June 2023
The following locations are still open for business:
Regal SouthGlenn in Centennial
Regal Interquest in Colorado Springs
Regal UA Colorado Center in Denver
Regal UA Denver Pavilions in Denver
Regal Canyon View in Grand Canyon
Regal UA Colorado Mills in Lakewood
Regal Village At The Peaks in Longmont
Regal Cinebarre Boulder in Louisville
Regal River Point in Sheridan
Thank you … good info I missed. I’m still a moviegoer and appreciate all the upgrades to seating and special promotions.
