Repairing rather than tossing items not only saves money but also helps the environment, so before you give up on that broken appliance, lamp, toy, furniture, clothing/fabric item and buy yet another one, learn how to fix it. Boulder’s FREE U-Fix-It Clinics provide the tools, including sewing machines and some supplies. Friendly coaches are also on hand. Still, it is recommended that participants also bring any parts or tools that might be helpful for the repair.
These sessions organized by Eco-Cycle fill up fast. The next one is on Sunday, March 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Boulder Public Library’s BLDG 61 Makerspace. Click here and scroll down to register and reserve a spot.
