MHOTC loves museums! Museums are the perfect destination for a relaxing, fun and informative day with friends and family. It’s even better when you don’t have to open your wallet — just your mind and curiosity. It doesn’t get much better than spending a fall weekend afternoon leisurely strolling a favorite or new museum and taking in all of the art, culture or history!
Whether you’re at home or traveling, explore and experience hundreds of museums and cultural institutions across the U.S. for FREE, as part the 18th annual Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day on Saturday, September 17. Tickets are now available.
To get started, visit the Museum Day site, search for participating museums in your area. Participants are allowed to download one ticket per e-mail address. Once you select a museum, you will not be able to change your selection.
Each ticket provides complimentary general admission for two people. The admission is not valid for special exhibits, IMAX film screening, parking or other select events.
The ticket is only valid on Museum Day, September 17. If a museum reaches capacity, the museum has the right to limit the number of patrons until space becomes available.
Some museums may require a printed ticket. Check your ticket. Museums requiring a printed ticket include an asterisk under the museum address stating, “*Printed ticket required.”
