Think your child might have the theatre bug, but find that classes are expensive or inconveniently located? Stagebugz is out to change that. The youth theatre organization will hold occasional performing arts classes for young performers that are pay-what-you-can. Programs operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, meaning there is no charge for families who can’t pay, no questions asked.
Students register for these classes on a donation basis, so every young artist can take advantage of our programs, no matter their financial situation.
Families who can’t afford to pay will not be charged, and families who can afford to pay more than the suggested donation in order to support another young artist are greatly appreciated.
All classes are at the Koelbel Library in Centennial.
Here’s the upcoming schedule:
The Broken Hearts Club
February 13 to 16, 2023
Ages 10 to 15
In this hilarious, heart-warming play, four girls find out they’ve all been dumped by the same guy and plot an elaborate Valentine’s Day scheme to teach him a lesson.
Actors will spend the week exploring more advanced acting techniques, focusing on character development, script analysis, comedic timing, and emotional connection.
At the end of the week, they will entertain the public with this sweet story at the Forum Theatre.
Winnie The Pooh
March 1 to April 12 (weekly on Wednesdays)
Ages 5 to 10
Join everyone’s favorite silly old bear and all his friends on an exciting adventure through the Hundred Acre Woods.
Younger performers will enjoy playing silly characters, learning thrilling musical numbers, and developing skills to perfect their stage presence and overcome nerves.
They’ll get to experience the process of putting on a show from no-pressure “auditions” to dress rehearsals to a share-performance for family and friends.
Koelbel Library is at 5955 S. Holly St., Centennial.
