Acclaimed Los Angeles-based actor and scholar Fred Blanco will present the one-man show “The Stories of Cesar Chavez” in several Colorado locations, including Aurora Community College, as this year’s Latino Heritage Live tour. Blanco’s dramatic portrayal of Cesar Chavez, one of the most inspirational and influential civil rights leaders of our time, looks at the man and his struggle for equality.
The show is on Thursday, October 11 at 6 p.m. at Aurora Community College (Fine Arts Building, F100). Admission is FREE.
The audience joins Chavez during his first hunger strike in 1968, and follows him on a spiritual journey through his humble childhood to his days as a courageous labor leader.
The performance is followed by conversation with Blanco, who studied theater at California State University, Northridge and has appeared in various roles on stage and screen. 16000 CentreTech Pkwy., Aurora.
