Fall is the time to be corny and sentimental, with so much family time on the calendar. And one of the best places to explore all things fall is at Maize in the City. The family-friendly attraction is Colorado’s favorite rural fall event, featuring a 20-acre corn maze, mini maze, pumpkin field, corn kernel box, sand art, corn launcher, barrel train ride, playground, face painting, petting zoo, ponies and more. Admission is FREE, with activity prices varying from no cost to $20. The attraction opens Saturday, September 28.
Maize in the City is open select dates from September 28 through October 31. Click here for exact dates and times.
Built into a 40-acre corn field, the “corny” attraction is a fun fall event the whole family can enjoy, only 15 minutes from downtown Denver at 10451 McKay Rd. in Thornton.
A family operation, the “fall festival” features a number of attractions:
Get lost in your own backyard, as you navigate your way through the 20-acre Crazed Corn Field Maze with the help of the customizable smartphone trivia game.
Let the little ones take the lead, as you make your way through the Mini Maze –a maze cut into a shorter corn stalk field.
Have your little ones ride through the field on the barrel train, race through the obstacle bouncer and feed animals in the petting zoo.
Bounce above the corn stalks on its pumpkin bounce pillow – the largest in the state.
Test your aim, as you launch ears of corn 100+ feet across the field.
Choose from 15 different varieties of pumpkins and gourds set in the easy-pick field.
Swim through the FREE corn kernel box or have your kid take a turn conquering the playground.
This year, the organizers are adding a new FREE tractor tire climb attraction.
